Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of chopdawg.com. By browsing this site or sending an inquiry through it, you agree to them. They cover the website only. Development work is handled under a separate written agreement between ChopDawg and the client.

Permitted use

Use of this site

You may use this site for lawful purposes and to work out whether to get in touch with us about a project. Reading it, sharing it, and sending an inquiry are all ordinary uses. What is not permitted is anything that damages the site or leans on it unfairly.

That includes attempts to disrupt or overload the site, attempts to reach parts of its systems you were not given access to, scraping the site at scale, and running automated tools in a way that slows the site down or degrades service for other visitors.

If you are unsure whether something counts as normal use, ask before doing it. Contact details are published on this site and we would rather answer a question than clean up after a problem.

Ownership and reuse

Site content

Text, graphics, layout, and other material published on this site belong to ChopDawg or are used with permission from their owners. Our work for clients often appears here as a description or a visual, and those items stay with whoever owns them.

You may read the site, link to it, and quote brief portions elsewhere with attribution. Republishing substantial parts of the site is not permitted, and neither is presenting our work as your own portfolio, case study, or service offering.

If you want to use a chart, screenshot, or a longer passage in a training deck, article, or proposal, ask first. In most cases we can say yes quickly when the use is clear and credited.

Quoting a paragraph to make a point about how we talk about app development is fine. Lifting a whole page and reposting it to rank in search is not.

Two habits keep this simple. Credit the page you took the quote from by name. And check with us before you use our name or imagery in a way that could read as an endorsement of your product.

Before a contract exists

Inquiries and communications

Sending an inquiry

Submitting an inquiry does not create a client relationship, a contract, or an obligation for us to provide services. It starts a conversation about whether there is a fit.

What we may discuss

Early messages usually cover the problem you are solving, the platforms you have in mind, and any constraints on budget or timing. Nothing discussed before signing is binding on either side.

When terms take effect

Scope, fees, deliverables, and timelines are established only through a separate written agreement signed by both parties. Until that document exists, neither side owes the other work.

Scope of information

No professional advice

This applies to everything we publish, including the insights section.

Content on this site, including articles in the insights section, is general information about software development and how app projects tend to run. It is written for a broad audience and is not legal, financial, tax, or regulatory advice, and it does not account for your specific circumstances, market, or contracts.

Before acting on anything you read here, consult qualified professionals who know your situation. This is especially true for questions about data handling, accessibility requirements, employment, or anything that varies by state or country.

Related reading

Articles that go deeper on discovery, builds, and maintenance live in Insights. They are written as general guidance, not as advice for a single project.

Outside the site

Third-party links and services

This site may link to external websites, including client projects, partner resources, and third-party tools mentioned in our articles. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.

Following an external link means their terms and policies apply from that point onward, not ours. If something you find through a link on this site looks wrong or outdated, tell us and we will take a look at the reference.

Links are provided so readers can check sources and see work in context. A link is not a recommendation of everything that appears on the destination site.

Availability and changes

The terms can change and the page may move. Both apply from the day they are published here.

We aim to keep this site available and accurate, but we do not promise uninterrupted access or that every page is free of errors. Content may be updated, moved, or removed without notice, and these terms may be revised. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the version published here at that time.

If something changes

When a revision affects how inquiries are handled, we date it at the top of this page so you can see which version you read.

Questions about a change can go to the address published on this site.

Limits

Limitation of liability

Read alongside the terms of any agreement you sign with us.

To the extent permitted by law, ChopDawg is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this site, including lost time, lost opportunities, or decisions made on the basis of information published here.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Where a limitation would not hold, it does not apply, and the rest of these terms continue in force.

Service engagements are governed by their own agreements, which may set different terms on liability, warranties, and remedies. Where an engagement agreement and these terms disagree about that work, the engagement agreement governs.

Governing law

Which rules apply

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at ChopDawg's place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute reaches a court, that is the law the court will apply.

If a clause fails

Severability

If one part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the remaining parts stay in effect. The terms are read as a whole, and no single sentence stands alone.

What this covers

The website only

These terms address the site: reading it, linking to it, and sending an inquiry through it. They do not cover development work, which is described in its own signed agreement.

Other policies

Privacy and cookies

How the site handles personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy, and browser storage is described in the Cookie Policy.

Governing terms and contact

Questions about these terms

If any part of this page is unclear, send a note through the published contact details and we will explain what we meant. We would rather answer a question than leave a reader guessing.

Next step

If you are planning an app project and want to talk through whether we are a fit, the contact page is the place to start. It does not commit you to anything.
